Naomi gets to have a "friend" party this year for her 4th birthday. There has been lots of discussion lately about what the theme would be - mosty motivated by Eve. I haven't discouraged the discussion because I figured any planning/thinking I can get done ahead of Phoebe's arrival would be great.
For the last several weeks we have been thinking it would be a fairy birthday. I have some great ideas for activities and I even found some bargain priced party favors already.
Well, tonight at dinner an unpromted Naomi says, "I want to have a sausage party. And everybody can come in their sausage costume." Uh . . . "Do you mean for your birthday party? I thought you wanted fairies." "No - I like sausages."
Hm. We'll see if she changes her mind again - I kinda hope so.

Katie's camping blog post

Katie's camping blog post is up over at AResourcefulHome.com...
http://www.aresourcefulhome.com/2010/08/camping-urprises-ouch.html
She's got pictures like this one and a lot more details than my post. Why is it over there? Is that what you're asking? Okay, just checking what you were asking. =^)

Thanks for reading!

Survived a week of camping!
Wow, that was a long week last week, but we had a lot of fun!
A few firsts for me...
(1) First time on the Gaudette and Friends annual camping trip.
(2) First time to Detroit Lake, Oregon (it's east of Salem).
(3) First time going to a Ranger/Naturalist presentation on skat (included the Skat Rap and a nature hike where we found a lot of skat that the Ranger had planted).
(4) First time going on a walk while the girls rode their bikes with me. I can't believe I hadn't done that yet, so I did it earlier tonight again.
(5) First time I slept in a tent with three rooms in it! It's funny that we leave our homes to go out into the wild and... try to recreate the home experience. Hmmm. That's fairly ironic.
==========================
A couple other adventures...
(1) We blew out a tire on the way there. AAA to the rescue! =^)
(2) Once we were dead, our car battery died. Dan was kind enough to switch out the battery in Mike's Suburban. That got me to the Les Schwab's to get a new battery and new tires. That purchase slowed down our attempt to pay off our debt (down to just our Time Share and my BS loan), but it was a necessary bump in life, and feels good to be prepared and ready for financial bumps in life like that.
(3) Naomi got dirty with the boys. We eventually had to put our feet down and lay down some ground rules to keep her from getting too dirty.
Hmm. Am I forgetting anything? It was fun-filled trip, and we wouldn't have survived three girls (four including the one in Katie) if we didn't have help and pace ourselves, rotating the responsibilities. So thanks to the family for helping!
