Eve's Birthday

We had  a special birthday party for Eve's 7th.  She wanted a princess tea party and we had a great time planning it.

We had a fun party.  Eve greeted each of her 12 guests at the door and presented them with a tiara.  Their first activity was to color a piece of a large princess puzzle.  Next was assembling a princess badge for each girl, choosing ribbons and attaching a pin back.  Eve fought sadness several times during the party because we planned for 12 girls in total and we ended up with 12 guests.  She wasn't able to wear a new tiara (but we found a big, fancy one in our dress up box instead), she wasn't able to color a piece of the puzzle, and she wasn't able to make a princess badge.  She also missed out on a ring-pop, a special chocolate spiral, and a teacup with saucer.  I was proud of her for holding it together and not crying though I could see how disappointed she was as she explained why she didn't have a chocolate spiral and why she wasn't coloring, too.  She was delighted to have out of town family visiting for the party.  Grandma Nikki, Grandma Mike, Grandma Renee, Aunt Rebecca, Uncle Sandy, and Cousin Emma were all attending.
